Devendra Bishoo – Winner for the Windies
Devendra Bishoo, a new hope for the West Indies and one of the most promising and upcoming stars the side has to offer. Making his international debut at the 2011 http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 Cricket World Cup, the young leg spinner has since then made a concrete ground in his team.
As a domestic first class player, Bishoo showed his true spins and expertise at the 2010 Caribbean T20. Playing for his home team Guyana, Bishoo’s outstanding performance earned him the player of the tournament award. This was also the debut season for the
tournament that was brought in shape by the West Indies Cricket Board. Previously, the event took place under the banner of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Stanford-c90880 20/20 which came to a controversial halt in 2008.
The following year did not allow Bishoo’s performance to go in vain. After replacing the injured Dwayne Bravo, at the age of 25, the spinner marked his international debut against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 at the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup. Taking advantage of the spinner
friendly sub-continent pitch, Bishoo earned three wickets for his team.   
Following the World Cup, Bishoo shined again during Pakistan’s tour to West Indies. Performing at the only T20 match of the tour the player led his team to a 7 runs victory against the Green Caps. Bishoo’s leg spins claimed 4 wickets for just 17 runs.
The tour also marked Bishoo’s test debut. In his opening match, the spinner earned his team 4 wickets for 68 runs leading to yet again another win. The series lead patented Bishoo a permanent slot in his squad as the player proved to be a primary backfire
against Pakistan’s destructive spinners attack.  
Soon after Pakistan’s series, the West Indies were visited by the 2011 ICC World Cup champions, the Indians. Though a slightly slow performance, Bishoo again showed his true colors and made a handsome contribution to his side. The player earned a total of
15 wickets in three ODIs and one T20.
Bishoo’s massive contribution to his team in such a small time span has surely gained attention of many.
However, according to Bishoo, the spinner derives such dedication and hard work from his late father. The player states that it was his late father’s dream to see him in a http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Jersey-c41001.
After replacing http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DJ-Bravo-c1379 and being selected for the West Indies World Cup squad, Bishoo admits that it was his father who always wanted him to play for the West Indies
"When I got the news that I would be playing in the match against England, I immediately thought about my father and what he wanted for me," said Bishoo.
"After he died it was just myself and my mother and she also encouraged me to achieve my goals. I know she is very happy and if my father was here I know he would been very happy too," the leg spinner added.
Devendra Bishoo, undoubtedly, has proved to be an asset to his team. At a young age of 25, the new comer has made a strong impact amongst his team mates as well as in the international cricketing world. With many more hopeful years to come for Bishoo, there
is a lot more one may expect from the player. Bishoo is already a star in a making, a cricketing celebrity that is yet to explore wonders and definitely a player to be watched out for.
