Devendra Bishoo elated after triggering Pakistan collapse in first Test at Guyana

West Indian debutant leg-spin bowler, Devendra Bishoo is elated after leading his team into a strong position in the first test against Pakistan, being played at the Providence in Guyana.
The local boy, Bishoo made full use of a wearing wicket offering sharp turn and bounce to the right armer. Occasionally, the ball was also keeping low with few of the balls creeping through at ankle height.
The spinner was well supported by the seam bowlers, with Captain Darren Sammy responding with two crucial wickets, and Ravi Rampaul polishing off the tail in company of the fastest bowler of the lot, Kemar Roach.
The hosts had surrendered the advantage of batting first on a sluggish wicket by what had looked a largely inadequate total of 226, however, the equally fragile Pakistani batting line-up gave them a great chance of winning the match by being shot out for
only 160 runs.
Bishoo took four wickets in a highly impressive spell that was acknowledged by his coach Ottis Gibson, the former West Indian pace bowler. Gibson thinks that Bishoo was the difference on day two and his control and penetrative skills caused the downfall
of the batsmen. He lauded his young charge, stating that he is a man for the future for West Indian cricket.
The coach feels that the real reason for his success is his unruffled attitude, and judging from his debut in the ICC World Cup 2011 a few months back, he has impressed him greatly with the maturity that he has shown in trying circumstances.
Gibson said while speaking to reporters, "He showed he has the ability to handle himself when he's put under pressure and that's a very good sign. He only had 226 to bowl at but he didn't show any nerves. He has been very adaptable and handled the situation
very well. Today, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Umar-Akmal-c94595 came at him quite hard and he responded very well."
Akmal was the only Pakistani who looked in some semblance of control against the wiles and guiles of Bishoo, however, it was the debutant who had the last laugh. He forced him into playing a loose pull shot off the back foot that ballooned in the air only
as far as wicketkeeper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Carlton-Baugh-c49264.
On the other hand, Bishoo stated after the day’s play that he wanted to stick to his plan and force the batsmen into making mistakes. He added that his idea was to make the batsmen choke for runs and surprise them with his subtle
varieties.
Bishoo was elated with the wicket of Misbah Ul Haq, the Pakistani captain; the right-hand batsman was found plumb in front of the wickets giving Bishoo his first wicket in Test match cricket.
"I tried to stick to what I normally do," Bishoo said. "I came here today and I knew once I got the ball in the right areas I would get some wickets. My first wicket was a relief. I knew I got him 'dead' in front. He's the main batsman
so to get him so early on was a great feeling"
The West Indians had wrestled the initiative back from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 with an inspired performance in the post-lunch session. However, they would have to bat with great discipline if they want to build onto their 100-run lead with 8 wickets
in their second innings standing.
