Taunton horseracing track will host Bathwick Tyres Handicap Hurdle at 3:40 on Tuesday, February 21. The Class 2 race of 2m1f distance will have £12,660 of bankroll.
The eleven entries for the high-stakes event include Dee Ee Williams, Sire De Grugy, Higgy’s Ragazzo, Edgardo Sol, Ski Sunday, Dare Me, Highway Code, Akula, Devil To Pay, Nampour and Drumshambo.
Ahead of the contest, we try to find out the three ace runners who are likely to settle on the top three positions on the results card.
This betting preview will guide the bookmakers to run the market meticulously.
Following are the snapshots of a favourite trio:
Devil To Pay
The champion trainer Alan King’s black gelding delivered outstanding performance in his last race on January 19. Fighting against 11 rivals at the Taunton Racecourse, he finished third. Prior to this, he had a couple of consecutive wins---one in November
2010 and the second in April 2011 at different track.
Thus, the six-year-old seems to be carrying enough confidence at the moment. The Horace 5-owned gelding is expected to unleash immense firepower today, having 90 percent chances to finish first.
As a whole, the talented runner has won 3 out of his total 18 stars so far.
Dare Me
The Philip Hobbs-trained black gelding possesses marvellous track record. Out of his total 7 starts to date, he has won 4 with big margins. After winning two consecutive races during October-November 2010, the eight-year-old made a comeback on January 28,
2012 and finished 9th at Cheltenham.
Due to his return after a long rest, his form is greatly uncertain and unpredictable. However, if he runs to his best, he has 80 percent chances to finish 2nd.
Edgardo Sol
After bagging his two first and last victories in a row during October-November 2011, Paul Nicholls’ gelding finished fourth at Sandown on December 3 and notched up third spot at Cheltenham on December 9.
So, he has picked up good momentum which is likely to help him thrive at Taunton today. He has 70 percent chances to grab the third top spot.
Conclusion
It will be a rip-roaring competition as each of the above trio is carrying nice form and stamina. However, Devil To Pay has the highest chances to rip through for the Hurdle title. Good luck to all the runners.
