Devil You Know set to sway things in his favour in Owners Bonus Series Heat 1 at Monmore
Devil You Know is stepping down in class, and will look to exploit it in the opening heat of Owners Bonus Series, taking place at Monmore on Friday, August 3rd.
The black dog won an A6 race at the start of June, but lost his rhythm thereafter. He could not do anything special on his A5 trip lately.
He runs well in trials, but fails to do an equally good job in the competition. J. Walters’ trainee should appreciate drop in grade, and make the use of this situation. Confidence will not be an issue for him at this level and if he manages to get a clean run, his chances will certainly be a lot brighter.
Others in the crew are: King Rabadabadoo, The Last Light, Combo Eva, Blanemore Wonder and Agony Aunt. The 480 metres Grade A6 event will be kicked off at 16:18 GMT. The triumphant hound will leave the field with a cash prize of £96.
Blanemore Wonder must hold ground next to the rails. The black dog is not in good form these days, as he was third in his previous appearance here last month.
The Last Light is not one of the consistent winners, but must make most of it today. After winning a race comprehensively at the lower grade, the white and black dog could not maintain the standards, when finishing third in an A6 meeting last time.
Agony Aunt might fail to trouble the judge. Combo Eva is coming to this race from the lower grade, and it might put a halt to her progress. King Rabadabadoo recently did business, but at the lower level. The white and brindle dog has the desire for more following a recent strike, and will surely be a major player in today’s race.
King Rabadabadoo and The Last Light are two dangerous competitors, but the game is open for Devil You Know, who is aiming to continue his good run in this class. The situation is in his favour, but one will have to wait and see how he handles things to steal the show.
