Devon overcame Buckingham in a one sided affair
Devon overcame Buckinghamshire by 47 runs (Duckworth-Lewis method) in a Group-two match of the MCCA Trophy, at the Tring Park Cricket Club Ground, Pound Meadows, Tring in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 on Sunday, June 5th, 2011. Buckinghamshire were all-out for 163
in 42.2 overs and the opposition quickly reached 70 without a loss in 14 overs before rain poured down. Devon were way ahead of the required target and won the match comfortably.
Toss was won by Buckingham’s captain, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Jason-Christian-Harrison-c66421, who decided to bat first. The pitch was good for batting but his batsmen failed to apply themselves at the crease and wickets kept on falling at regular intervals.
The start to the Buckingham innings was not a bad one, as their openers, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hamza-Taj-c61387 and Leigh Tomlinson, put together 46 runs for the first wicket. Taj was the first wicket to fall in the innings. He was looking solid in the middle, but failed to carry onto
the start he got to his innings and was dismissed for 27 runs.
Tomlinson was the next to go after adding 19 runs to the total from 33 balls. He took his time to settle down and would have liked to carry onto his innings, but failed to do so.

collecting 20 runs in his knock.

Things got worse for the Buckingham team, as the next two batsmen got run-out. This saw a collapse for the team and

Six wickets fell in a span of just 23 runs, but Buckingham’s first-drop player continued to bat with responsibility. He ended up being the top scorer of the match with 66 runs from 79 deliveries, smashing seven fours and two huge sixes.
David Lye and Chris Bradley took wickets apiece in the match for Devon, restricting the opposition to 163 in the 43rd over.
Devon’s opening pair, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/James-Burke-c1640, put together 70 runs for the first wicket, taking the game away from the opposition. They were unbeaten on 44 and 21 respectively, when rain stopped play.
However, the match was awarded to Devon, as they were way ahead of the opposition after 14 overs of play was completed.
