Dew Reward favourite for yorkshire-outdoors.co.uk Selling Stakes
Dew Reward is expected to prevail in the yorkshire-outdoors.co.uk Selling Stakes at Catterick in England on Friday, June 8, 2012. A cash prize of £1,704 will be awarded to the winner of the class-6 event.
Stamina will be crucial in today’s race, as the overall distance to cover for all participants will be 1 mile, 5 furlongs and 175 yards. A total of six runners have been confirmed for the event, which is scheduled to start at 14:35 GMT, and their names
are as follows: Eijaaz, Private Story, Veloso, Dew Reward, Bijou Dan and Sposalizio.
Gordonsville and Mystified were also scheduled to take part in the race, but their names have been withdrawn now. The former of the two was in decent form and could have managed to win today.
Out of the remaining runners, Dew Reward has the best chances of winning, as he is carrying a decent momentum right now. Things will not be easy for him at all, as there are some fierce competitors up against him.
The four-year-old gelding has participated in 29 races until now, winning four of them and finishing runner up on a couple of occasions. In addition to that, he has also taken the third spot on four times, which shows that he is capable of fighting
at the front.
Although the Bill Turner’s trainee does not have a very good strike rate, his performances in recent times have been good. He was victorious in just a couple of events ago and is in a nice rhythm. However, he was unable to make a solid impression in
his previous race, finishing sixth in it.
A better run would definitely ensure Dew Reward a victory at Catterick. He will be partnered by Ryan While, who is a promising rider and will be looking forward to a strong show today. He does not have a good strike rate, but has got a decent strike
rate, which will help him attract a lot of bets.
On the other hand, the bookies have given better odds to Eijaaz, who has got a lot of experience and knows how to handle pressure. He has entered 86 events, winning a dozen of them and finishing runner up on the same number of times.
