Dewpoint/humidity affects?

when doing sports... which exactly affects us more?

the high humidity or the high dewpoint

i know high dewpoints often will mean higher humidity and we overheat because our sweat wont evaporate as well.

but what if the day had a low dewpoint but high humidity??

or a high dewpoint with low humidity??

  1. High humidity affects people more. The dew point is the temperature at which the air temperature must be cooled for the air to be saturated. Humidity is the ratio of dew point temperature and air temperature multiplied by 100. High humidity means high moisture, which will cause breathing difficulties to some extent.

    Since dew point reflects upon humidity and vice versa, these two situations aren't possible depending upon what you mean by low and high dew point. If there is a large difference between the dew point and the air temp, then the humidity will be low. A high dew point means a high air temp. The dew point can never exceed the air temp; it can only be less than or equal to.
