Dexter Lee successful again at the 13th IAAF World Junior Championships

Only eighteen years of age, Dexter Lee is a Jamaican athlete who seems clearly unstoppable. His forte being the hundred meters sprint, Lee has won numerous accolades of recognition, proving his capabilities and the potential he has in store for the future, and most importantly the fact that he is one athlete his competitors cannot take lightly.
Awarded a gold medal at the IAAF World Youth Championships in 2007 in the arena of hundred meters, Lee delivered the notion that he is an athlete definitely on his way to stardom.
Truly enough, 2008 proved to be fruitful again as Dexter Lee was provided with another shiny gold medal; this time at the 12th IAAF World Junior Championships, defending the title again for the next year as the 13th IAAF World Junior Championships provided him with another feather in the cap as he came first again.
He heralded the arrival of an athlete in the category of hundred meters who presented athletic class and genius clearly rare in others his age. Boasting of a personal best of 10.16 seconds of completion time at the hundred meters arena, a feat he accomplished in Barcelona in the current month against a strongly acting wind of 0.9 meters per second, Dexter Lee has undoubtedly set his foot strongly in the field of athletics.
However, his recent win at the 13th IAAF World Junior Championships is sufficiently distinguished from his other victorious pursuits. Mainly owing to the fact that it allowed him to pen down his name in the history of athletics, an occasion that will always hold great significance not only for this aspiring athlete, but also his nation.
Before Dexter Lee’s superb feat, the world of athletics was unaware of an athlete winning back to back hundred meter titles, and while another superb performance hailed his arrival into the semi final, making many believe that this feat would be extremely difficult to accomplish, Lee proved them wrong.
After a subtle run of only 10.66 seconds, this Jamaican athlete was forced into the seventh lane, but regardless of that, he maintained his stride, and set his foot across the victory line only a mere 10.21 seconds later. He not only marked his territory as the triumphing champion again for another consecutive year, but also carved his name in the memoirs of history forever.
Surely enough, Dexter Lee celebrated this occasion by running across the track with a huge Jamaican flag wrapped around his body, and the widest grin possible on his face.
Ahead of this event, Dexter Lee had revealed in a press conference that records were currently not as important for him as acquiring medals, and nothing meant more to him than completing this tournament with a shiny gold medal hung from his neck.
It is therefore truly amazing and joyous to discover that Lee accomplished the dream he set for himself, not only because it establishes his might further as an exceptionally gifted and talented athlete, but also because it allows everyone to anticipate even more excelling performances in the future.
While this event holds great significance for Dexter Lee, his pursuit is clearly not over yet: today he will commence the battle for another individual medal, his fourth one if he is successful yet again, at the arena of two hundred meters, making a total of two rounds. Whether he will emerge victorious at yet another occasion is something that remains to be seen, but it is entirely evident that all the odds are currently pointing favourably in his direction.
