Dexter showtime series books?

In the second Dearly Devoted Dexter am I right to think that Deborah knows that Dex is a serial killer? Did she find this out at the very end of the first book? If she does know that he is a serial killer and she is so uptight about being a sworn officer of the law why does she not turn him in? So does she know he's a killer or does she jusr know that his brother is a killer?

She knows and she comes to terms with it.

I think she accepts it like Harry accepted it - Dexter's got the urge to kill and he channels his energies into killing "bad" guys.  Perhaps Deb has rationalized this as an "acceptable state of affairs" like Harry did.
