  1. DF118 contain dihydrocodeine and solpadol codeine they are quite similar

but the solpadol also has paracetamol. They are both quite addictive so be very careful and only use them when you need too. You do seem to be taking a lot of medication at the moment I think you should ring your doctor and let him/her know that your pain is not well controlled and see what advice they give you. Hope you are feeling better soon. I had a car crash about 12 weeks ago and am still in pain yet so I do hope your pain doesn't last as long as mine has.

  2. I am afraid this is a pretty disastrous and medically inappropriate collection of medication!

You are on 3 different opiate/opiate analogue drugs at once, Solpadol, which is paracetamol + codeine, dihydrocodeine and tramadol. Of the 3 tramadol is by far the best drug, it is much less addictive, less constipating and in appropriate doses the most potent. Good practice would dictate you should bo on only 1 in that group. Many doctors would argue there is no place at all for diazepam or noctomed as they can both result in addiction in as little as 3 days.

The best solution to this would be to ensure that your pain relief is appropriate and adequate, which would also hopefully allow you to sleep anyway. This would best be done by titrating up the tramadol, or if the pain cannot be controlled in this way, even being prepared to use morphine, as its potential for addiction, in the presence of pain, tends to be much reduced.

If there were no option but to use night sedation as well, I might chose old fashioned chloral, it is potent and tolerance is slow to develop.

  3. Yep- Dr Franko is the man. It's not a case of what will mong you out, it is what can help you. Not sure if you want to be helped though. If you are talking about 118's, you should be taking a big effort to come back to the working world and not another sip of methadone.

I hope I am wrong though, mate. I haven't had to put up with that nightmare- I am lucky enough not to have to think about it. Mates will help you, though. Good luck.

  4. Solphadol has paracetamol in it too. Dfs are dihydrocodiene, which is a lot stronger but can make you sick at first.

    Ask for the Dfs.
