Kumar Sangakkara, the skipper of new IPL franchise Sunrisers http://www.senore.com/Cricket/S-Dhawan-c2392 would be felt in the opening fixture of the IPL-VI against Pune Warriors, to be played
here in Hyderabad today, April 5, 2013. However, he said that Dhawan’s injury would give youngsters a chance to prove themselves in the esteemed Twenty20 tournament.

"I think it is a huge loss," Sangakkara said while speaking on the eve of the IPL-VI opener against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Warriors-c861. "I watched him scoring that magnificent century for India against Australia in his debut Test. But, we have replacements who
are probably good enough to do the job and we are excited to give that opportunity to a younger guy," he added further.
In the absence of Dhawan, the former http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Parthiv-Patel-c2159, is likely to open the innings for the Sunrisers along with skipper Sangakkara. Patel who has not played a match for his country since February last year, said that
he was ready for the responsibility.
"If you look at my career, I batted in almost every position. I am ready for any challenge," http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Huzefa-Mohammed-Patel-c63657 said while speaking to media reporters on Thursday.
Sangakkara also said that Friday’s match against Warriors would help the new team understand where it stands and will build from there.
"We just want to keep things as simple as possible, play some good cricket, be very competitive in this tournament and then once we played the first match, then we will understand more, probably better, where we are at the moment and
build from there again," said the Sri Lankan wicketkeeper batsman.
Sunrisers’ leg-spinner http://www.senore.com/Cricket/A-Mishra-c871, who struggled with his fitness during last season, was also confident about doing well this time around. Mishra said that he was coming into the tournament with decent performances in domestic cricket
and vowed to keep the momentum intact.
