Dhoni has opted out of the coming test series, citing fatigue as his reason, but as he had previously stated that he would not play if Sachin was returned to the team,( & Sachin has been named), do you think this is petulance at it's worst?

  1. Since when did playing for one's country become bonded labor?

If the man is tired, he knows it. He is an adult and he lives in a democracy. The selectors can choose to reject him for the next occasion, but that would be churlishness on their part.

It would be professional suicide to cross Tendulkar, given his stature in Indian cricket

  2. I do not think that his opting out has anything to do with the inclusion of Sachin Tendulkar.  In fact Dhoni has on couple of occasions praised Sachin Tendulkar.

  3. if Dhoni thinks there is too much cricket an needs rest why did he play the ipl even when he was injured there he played as just a batsmen why should he feel his place is secure in the test team as he hasn't achieved much in that arena I mean this shows a case of choosing money over your country which is ridiculous your country should always come first he is giving another player the chance they may yet take his place away he needs to show more commitment to his country, I'm not sure on the Sachin thing but I did read he said there was to much cricket thats where my statements come from

  4. If After Asia cup it was IPL instead of national duty he would have said "I loved to be part of team and I will give my best to win IPL".All tiredness would have gone as 6.5 crore Rs. (1.5 million $) was there. He is just good for nothing captain who has good winning record just because of sheer performances of some talented individuals in the team.

  5. i just don't understand dhoni....he is loved by a lot off people in india but doing these kind of things will only make people hate him.....i dont know if he wants that to happen or is genuinely tired

  6. Oh well, Dhoni isn't much of good test player anyway. He only plays well in ODIs and T20. The problem here is who will do the keeping? Too be honest Rahul Dravid isn't a good keeper. Someone new should be admitted into the team. We saw alot of good new Indian wicket keeper batsman in the IPL. Maybe they might get a chance to play thanks to Dhoni.

  7. ok that statement is a total lie.

If he were to say that, no person in this world would even support him. Unless, he is a real idiot.

  8. You either want to play for your country, or you don't. Can you imagine Brett Lee pulling out of a Test series because he is tired!!!!

He should try having a word with Sachin Tendulkar sometime about commitment. Sachin has played at the top level for 19 years, and has only missed matches through injury. Added to that, he has had the enormous pressure of being the hero to a billion people, and having to carry that weight of expectation on his shoulders all that time.

So I do not feel that Dhoni should opt out of the Test series due to fatigue. The Indian selectors should refuse to pick him ever again.

  9. good for him he needs some way to pass the sri lankan tour~

So we  do not feel that Dhoni should opt out of the Test series due to fatigue. The Indian selectors should refuse to pick him easily  again~

  10. I don't think that Dhoni would make a statement that when Sachin returns, he would not play. If he had made a statement like that then he would have been gone the very next day.

BUt then again I remember Dhoni making a statement about the seniors not playing responsibly. In an interview Sachin responded that "others should stop giving him advice". I think we will hear a lot more on this in the coming days.

  11. i'd rather see dhoni fresh and ready to whooop some *** rather than all tired and doing nothing.  Good decision by Dhoni

  12. Looks like he's pitching a hissy-fit to me. If he was feeling tired, maybe he should have played less T20 and ODI cricket earlier in the year to save himself for the important games that people will judge him on a generation from now?

  13. dhoni is an overrated twa*.

Its good that he isnt in the test side, as he is a consistent failure in test, and is really useless outside of the subcotinent.

    he averages 32 in test,lol.

this is the first time i have heard of a player opting out of national duty over tiredness. If he was tired, then how come he played in the IPL?

He is out there to ruin indian cricket. You wouldnt people like Sachin, Dravid, Ponting ect... ever dreaming of opting out of national duty, because they were tired, let alone a big test series, like sri lanka.

  14. the only reason dhoni is sitting out, is that he played well in last few series. he averages more than 62 in ODI since being captain.

Imagine an out of form Dhoni, would he opt out of series? don't think so.

    showmanship comes before sportsmanship.

  15. I see the ! tiger! ( OZ) has reared his butt ugly head again, abusing people as always.

I too read this where he passed the comment if Sachine was picked he would not play, i do not know his reasoning behind it, or if it true, but it was definitely reported in many papers, he could of mean, India won't need him or something but he said it,  and knowing his personality it would be something more sinister,  he wants total control,  he doesn't know if he wants to be a rock star or a human being cricketer.  he loves the publicity, the money he got undeserved from IPL was disgusting,  India for team unity are better off with out this GLAMOUR BOY.
