Dhoni criticises Eden Gardens' wicket - Cricket News
The Indian skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028, has once again criticised the Eden Gardens pitch - which hosted a one sided Test match between India and West Indies – for being too flat.
While talking to the media reporters at the post match press conference, Dhoni said that the Eden strip was too flat without any turn and bounce, and despite persisting with a tight line and length, the spinners could get occasional flights.
"I would like to see a wicket where it turns more and the spinners get the bounce on a consistent basis,” said Dhoni after an innings and 15-run win over West Indies. “Because that's what http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 is known for. Hopefully we will be able to get those kind of
wickets," he hoped.
The home side scored a mammoth 631 for 7 before declaring their first innings of the second Test of the three-match series against West Indies, before rolling over the Caribbean batting line up for a meagre 153 in their first innings to enforce a follow-on.
However, the Indian bowling attack struggled to bowl out the Windies in their second innings as it took them four full sessions to send the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 batsmen home to win the match by an innings and 15 runs and register an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match
series. The tourists played 126.3 overs in their second innings, scoring 463 runs.
Dhoni said that the pitch did offer some pace and bounce to the bowlers in the morning session of day three, but going forward, it became a batting paradise.
"It was not a wicket where you can get in and get the batsmen out. It was tough job for the bowlers. In the first session...there was a bit of moisture and the spinners got a bit of turn,” said Dhoni after the match.
"But after that and half an hour before lunch it turned out to be a be a flat wicket and continued to be flat from that point of time," he said.
Indians lead the three-match series 2-0 with the third and last test commencing on November 22, in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820.
