Dhoni has overtaken Sachin in sponsorships ? Does it mean end of the era for Sachin enigma ?

Sachin has dominated the endorsement age right from 2000 for the past 8 years, the baton is taken over by Dhoni, how long he will last may be for another 2 to 3 years maximum. Sachin should retire as grand old man of Indian cricket in 2011 on a winning note by probably playing in one of two matches.

Sachin is the most sponsered cricketer in the world, sachin has quite a few sponsors with england, australia, through most of asia and even canada. where as dhoni gets about 98% of his sponsors from india.

Though I too feel that Sachin should retire on a winning Note, I do not think he will be able to continue playing ODI till the next world cup.  Hence it will be ideal if he retires from ODI after couple of good performances rather than continue playing and his performance deteriorates.

i don't know what do you mean by enigma here, normally enigma means something abstract or puzzle which can't be solved ever, i think you want to say Sachin's era, which is good enough in the sentence !

Dhoni is a kid in front of the stature of the legend Sachin, kids keep growing but father remains of same size, hope you understand !

Sachin is a myth and poor Dhoni can't compete with him. I am afraid that as soon as Sachin is available to play, one promising batsman will be dropped from the current squid. People love to watch Sachin and he has tremendous crowed drawing power but that should not be the reason for his inclusion in the team. India need a teram of eveven players who can win. Sachin is GREAT but please let others play while they can....

I question your use of the word 'enigma', when referring to Sachin? Why is he an enigma(puzzle)? I would have thought he was a straightforward good cricketer, no puzzle about it.But as much as I know your fellow users here like Sachin, he is getting on in years & must retire soon. Constant sport & travel wear a man out before his time usually, so let him retire with dignity when he is ready.As for the sponsors, they are like the media, always looking for someone to better their opposition.
