Dhoni is not under pressure-Fleming – Cricket News Update
Chennai Super Kings coach, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028 despite the skipper’s below par showings in the first three matches of the ongoing cash-rich Twenty 20 tournament, Indian Premier League (IPL).
The defending champions have yet to peak in this year’s competition, losing two out of the three matches they have played so far. Dhoni, himself is yet to fire with the bat – contributing just 22 runs so far.
“He never seems to be under any kind of pressure. Obviously, he has pressure but that he has been living with it for quite some time now," said the former http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 skipper.
The 39-year-old Black Caps cricketer believes that Dhoni remains a pivotal figure and will come good in the remaining matches – referring to his past record as a demonstration of his true potential.
“He (Dhoni) has the desire to win like anybody else and it`s known that he is talented. He is a key component in this set-up and everyone knows what happens when he performs," added the left-handed batsman.
Fleming also backed their under firing opening duo of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Faf-du-Plessis-c1427. Both have failed to provide their team with substantial beginnings and have been involved in two run outs. This has put pressure on the remaining batters, all of whom
have succumbed under pressure.
However, the Kiwi legend is content with the team combination and has backed the opening pair to prove their worth in the remainder of the competition.
“It`s only three matches and we have a long way to go. It would be unfair on Vijay to drop him after just three bad games and also he was run-out today,” said Fleming, “He (Plessis) is a fantastic attacking batsman and also a brilliant fielder. For us, he
is a great attacking weapon.”
CSK will play their next match against Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 12 at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk Chennai. The Royals will be also hoping to get back to winning ways, following a defeat at the hands of Kolkata Knight Riders.
