The Argentine is keenly looking forward to facing the German champions, sharing that he is certain that Los Blancos' current form can help them attain the victory.
Real Madrid’s Angel di Maria has expressed his confidence ahead of Los Blancos’ return to European action this midweek. The Spanish giants are set to take on German Bundesliga outfit, Borussia Dortmund, in the group stage fixture of UEFA Champions League.
According to the attacking midfielder, Madrid’s recent performance gives testimony of the fact that they are ready to face any challenges.
Given that the current Spanish La Liga champions do not have a good track record against German teams, their head coach Jose Mourinho is expected to have a cautious approach towards the encounter.
However, Di Maria has emphasized that the Spanish capital-based outfit have the endurance and strength to overcome Dortmund in the upcoming match.
Nevertheless, their past experience against Bundesliga outfits is expected to influence their approach towards Wednesday’s game.
Di Maria also admitted that Los Merengues will have to undergo a test. Yet he maintained that Los Vikingos can achieve victory like they have been doing recently.
While talking to reporters, the 24-year-old was quoted as saying:
"We know it will not be easy. But if we play our game, and continue to play the way we have done so far, hopefully we can get the win. We have been doing well lately. We started off badly in the league, but we feel good at the moment. We are happy with what
we're doing and we always aspire to win every competition."
"I haven't spoken to Mourinho about playing specifically on the left-hand side. The important thing for me is that I want to play. I will happily play wherever he puts me, and I'll always do my best for the team."
The two sides will meet at the Signal Iduna Park on Wednesday in what is expected to be an interesting fixture. Both clubs are domestic powerhouses and will be hoping to maintain their reputation in the European competition.
Having won both of their previous games in the group stages of the prestigious tournament, Jose Mourinho’s men are not short on confidence as they travel to Bavaria as favourites to emerge victorious.
