Chelsea’s interim manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-Sturridge-c10076 is still in the learning stage and that he needs time to realize his true potential.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international has often been found guilty of playing the selfish card, since he tries to go on and try to claim the glory, as opposed to playing his team mates on.
The twenty two year old has left his team mates frustrated with his decision making ability on a number of occasions and has even caused the team some brilliant opportunities to score goals.
Di Matteo has now gone on to reveal that he has spoken to the striker in private about his behaviour and hopes for him to improve in the coming weeks.
The interim manager is quoted to have said: “I spoke to Daniel individually, yes - like all the other players"
"He’s a fantastic player with some incredible ability and he will be very important for us.
“There are not many players with that ability, and we sometimes forget he’s a very young player, and young man, who is really in his first full season here.”
However, he admitted that the forward’s young age meant that he was only going to improve with time and that there was still a lot of room for improvement in the future.
He continued to explain, “http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-c9879 is still developing. Just look at his age and the number of games he has played. He needs to become a better player, but he has some incredible talent. He can make the team better and help us win more games.
“I think he has the ability to play through the middle."
Sturridge is now bound to have just about everyone looking at him and just how he plays. The forward has the ability to go on and become one of the best in the business, but he needs to start working on his ability to play well with others.
It is now going to be up to Di Matteo, or whoever comes in to take over at the club, to get the forward to fix his mentality and ultimately improve his performances for the team.
