Chelsea’s interim manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Di Matteo has admitted that his side were quite outstanding in their game against Tottenham Hotspur and felt that the team proved just how lethal they can be in the game.
The Blues took to the field with a point to prove, as they went on to dominate the game early on and eventually took the lead in the game.
Soon after, Juan Mata was awarded a very controversial goal, as replays suggested the ball never crossed the line and didn’t even come close to crossing the line.
However, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Bale-c14422 managed to get one back for Tottenham, but his effort seemed to motive Chelsea even further.
Di Matteo’s team then went on to go all out in the game and put three more past Tottenham as they won their match by five goals to one in the end.
As a result of the win, Chelsea are now going to be heading into the finals of the tournament and will take on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809, as both the teams look to claim the FA Cup for themselves.
When talking about the game and just how his men had played, Di Matteo is reported to have said: ''I think our team played very well today I thought it was a great performance.
"When you’re behind and the game is finishing, you might open up a little bit more but we’re pleased we scored those goals. It’s a confidence boost for us."
He then went on to talk about Mata’s goal, as he believes that perhaps his side were lucky to get that goal awarded in their favour. However, he insisted that, that wasn’t the goal which decided the game, since http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 scored four more goals during the match.
"Apparently it didn’t cross the line so in this case we were on the lucky side but many times before we’ve had decisions going against us," he added.
"We didn’t just score two goals, we scored five so I’m not sure how much it matters.”
The manager then urged his team to maintain their momentum and look to build on it over the remainder of the season.
