Chelsea’s manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Di Matteo has gone on to hail Oscar, as he feels the young Brazilian was outstanding in his team’s game against Juventus.
The Blues took on the Old Lady of Italian football in the Champions League, as last year’s winners were looking to defend their trophy.
The match kicked off with a bang for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Oscar-c28720, as the Brazilian scored his first goal near the half hour mark.
A few minutes later, the Brazilian was in the thick of things once again, as he went on to bend an unstoppable shot into the back of the net.
As a result of his quick fire goals, Chelsea were leading by two goals to nil in the span of a couple of minutes.
However, despite Oscar’s efforts, the team couldn’t hold onto their lead and at the end of the game Juventus were able to get back in the game and score two goals of their own.
Despite that fact, Di Matteo has taken time to praise Oscar, who was actually playing in his first ever Champions League game.
"[It was] a terrific debut for him," Di Matteo said.
"We were just waiting for the right game for him to be put into the team, and it was wonderful to watch him tactically as well.”
"He played a very big role for us today and scored, and the second one was fantastic as well.”
Nonetheless, despite the team kicking things off with a bang, Di Matteo admitted that perhaps his team did deserve to draw the game, since they just weren’t up to the mark in the second half.
"I thought it was a very good football game and at the end, probably both teams could have won it. We had chances to go with the third goal and probably close the game, and then they equalised, but I think it was probably a deserved draw.”
The Italian manager will now be looking to get his team to focus on their upcoming games, as he can’t let the team drop any more points in the future, since that could put them in some very turbulent situations.
