Chelsea’s manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ashley-Cole-c6809 will stick around at the club, as opposed to him seeking a move out of the team.
The full back went on to join the Blues in 2006, as he made a very controversial move from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 to Chelsea. At the moment, his contract with the club is set to run out at the end of the season, which is why it seems like there is a need to negotiate a new deal with the player.
Cole has not really come forth and revealed just what his future ambitions are, but Di Matteo feels that the defender is going to be sticking around at Chelsea, and that he will most probably go on and end his career at the club as well.
"I'm very optimistic that it will be dealt with before that [January]," Di Matteo told reporters.
"He has become a legend - he is now Chelsea through and through. But I wouldn't say it's just happened recently. He's been here many years and has contributed a lot to this club."

The manager then went on to praise the defender for his professional attitude and the way he represents the team. He feels Cole is a brilliant example for the younger players, and hopes for him to stick around for as long as he can.
"He's a fantastic pro, which I'm not sure whether you know," Di Matteo continued.
"Somebody that's the first one out in training, one of the first into the building with JT [http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/John-Terry-c18895], trains every day like a professional, reliable, somebody that you could go to war with. And he's a very quiet guy as well. He's very private at his own stuff. He's one of the best left-backs in the world."

http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 just went on to beat Stoke City by one goal to nil, and at the end of the day, when all else failed it was Cole who went on to score for the team.
The defender’s contributions for the club have been immense over the last few seasons, and should he stick around, the team won’t have to worry about getting a new left back for a couple of seasons.
