Di Resta to miss Singapore practice
Force India test driver Paul di Resta will miss another Grand Prix practice this weekend as the Scot will step aside for drivers Tonio Liuzzi and Adrian Sutil. Due to the hectic schedule of the night race,
Liuzzi and Sutil have been given priority so that they are exposed to the characteristics of the track and become accustomed to some of the technical modifications made to the car.
“Unfortunately I won't be out in Singapore as it's such a crucial race for the team, with so much to play for in the championship and a few new parts on the car," di Resta stated. "All the same I'll be
with the team the whole weekend and I'm excited about going there, as there will be some challenges I've not encountered so far this year. It will be another street track, and it will obviously be in the dark for most of the running so the whole approach to
the weekend will be different.”
The 24-year-old has tested for McLaren and was signed in 2010 by Renault, where he completed practice sessions for the Australian Grand Prix, Monaco, the European Grand Prix, and the British Grand Prix,
to name a few. The driver, cousin to legendary Indy Car driver Dario Franchitti, is striving to perform for the team next season as a primary racer.
Although di Resta will be disappointed in missing out at Singapore, he is determined to take advantage of the surroundings and enjoy what the great cityscape has to offer.
"Everyone says how nice it is, not only the circuit, but also the city, so in some of the free time I'll try and do some exploring and get a feel for the country. I'm really looking forward to it and am
going to try and help the team as much as I can over the weekend."
The first Singapore practice sessions begins on September 24.
