did you guys hear that stephanie said that she might not publish midnight sun becuause of the leak of her first twelve chapter of midnight sun. she said that because of that she will not publish midnight sun!!!!!!

She said that right now she is so upset that she cant write and I can understand it is like someone has invaded your privacy and I do hope that she moves on and finishes it but she is one of my favorite authors and I will love her work and stand behind her

Yes, almost everyone's heard. You are not the first person to post a question like this recently. I think that it's too bad for her (I would hate to be in her position), but it's her decision as to whether or not she finished it. If she does, fine, if not, okay.

Edit: Why am I getting thumbs-downs? Would you rather I said that we should somehow force her to finish writing the book?

I think that she got sick of the thousands of fans that stole her last book and were passing around illegal downloads of this one. Why write what people are just going to steal.

Yes. Everyone's heard about it - which was just what she was aiming for. This is nothing more than a pathetic plea for attention thrown her way. She wants people hyped up for Midnight Sun so they forget about the epic failure that was Breaking Dawn; threatening to NOT publish it (with a 'valid' "reason") and then, two or so weeks later, announcing that she WILL publish it is the perfect way to do that.

Edit to the two people above me (and anyone with similar opinions): She gave them the books. This isn't the first time books have been leaked. Emotions shouldn't get in the way of you doing your JOB. There is absolutely no reason to EVER give out unedited manuscripts to anyone other than your editor. Giving them out MULTIPLE times throughout the writing process, as she seemed to have done, is just asking to be leaked.

Also, the books have in no way been 'ruined.' Everyone knows what happens. We've seen it all in Twilight. She's a five year old throwing a tantrum on the floor over not getting a cookie before dinner and you're acting like she's being noble and wise and doing the right thing.

She's not.

The person she trusted and gave an advanced copy or part of the story and posted it on the internet everywhere. I'd feel betrayed if they did that to me. She has had the story ruined for her now and doesn't want to publish it anymore. You can't really blame her. It's sad that they did that to her because I wanted to read the story as much as anyone. I don't think she'll publish it since it was ruined like that.
