Gamers can expect to spend their real-world money on in-game items and content next month according to Blizzard as the studio pegs down a release date for the eagerly anticipated feature.
Fans of the Diablo series have had to wait long and hard for the third instalment in the cult classic series to make a return and although the gameplay is near perfect when it comes to delivering on the trademark experience that the series is known for,
a number of glitches ruined the overall mood of a number of gamers.
Error 307 was the most notorious of these errors, which made the game virtually unplayable. However, a patch has been released to resolve the issue and the game is slowly getting back to the performance levels expected of a triple-A title.
However, there is another feature that fans of the series seem to want but Blizzard was withholding and that was the real-money auction house in the game. Diablo 3 is set to allow gamers to spend their real-world money to buy items and content within the
game in the Auction House.
The feature was set to launch on the 22nd of May, however, the post-release issues that the game came with resulted in that being pushed back to the 29th of May.
It turns out that the issues with the game are yet to be fully resolved and Blizzard have now announced that gamers can expect to find the feature active on the 12th of June.
A statement on Blizzard’s website stated: "In light of the post-launch obstacles we've encountered, we have made the decision to move the launch of the real-money auction house beyond the previously estimated May time frame."
A number of issues are still being reported with the game; including the return of Error 33, however, according to reports those issues are sorting themselves out.
Despite all these issues Diablo 3 went on to become the fast-selling PC game in history, selling over 6-million copies in its first week alone. However, since then the numbers have been dropping as gamers who are still on the fence when it comes to buying
the game or not.
