Diagonal lines. How can I get rid of diagonal lines on my HDTV when I tune in Direct TV channels?

How can I get rid of diagonal lines on my HDTV when I tune in Direct TV channels? The lines don't seem to appear during commercials; only when the program is back on air. I also don't seem to get the lines on local channels. I can switch from antenna to cable and still get the lines.
