  1. Not in the instance that you quote.

The Dial-a-Bus services operated SPT (or Strathclyde Partnership for Transport, to give the full title) are designed for the disabled and the elderly. They will not carry a fit 14 year old wanting a lift for the shopping.

However, there is another type of demand responsive service that you may be able to use - Ring'n'Ride. This operates in areas where there is no conventional public transport. Although these services are open to all, they are restricted by an operating area. In essence, they cater for trips to the nearest large town or trips between villages.

For example, Ring'n'Ride service 700 is centered on Girvan (in Ayrshire) and caters for travel to/from villages such as Old Dailly, Barr, Penkil, Pinmore, Pinwherry, Colmonnell, Barrhill, Ballantrae, Heronsford and Lendalfoot. As with Dial-aBus, you phone to book your journey. This particular service also caters for journeys to Ayr, Maybole or Stranraer by making connections with services 58, 60, 358 or 360 at an appropriate location.

If you want more information of the geographical areas in which they operate, etc., then follow the link given in your question, you will see the Ring'n'Ride option on the left hand side menu.

  2. most of those services are set for senior or disable

and lots of time you have to register first for the service

(sometimes this means a interview with them or sometimes

a doctor note would be enough

since you are only 14 you probably could just take the local

    transportation there

although in some cities there a dial a ride service that is open to

    everyone..
