You know most dial-up services are priced at the rate of a local call,

well what if your local calls are free after six and at weekends?

Does this make it 'free'?

  1. All dial-up use toll free numbers only, otherwise no one would ever sign up!!!

  2. in the U.S.A. for Dial-up service you call in on a local number in your area code. there are times it is a local call and there are times it might be a toll call or long distant charge. land lines don't have a nights and weeknds. they have a flat rate.

  3. Most dial up internet connection use and 0870 or 0845 number, and these are usually excluded from the free calls. (They are free for calls starting 01,02 and 05)

    Hope this helps?

  4. If your dial-up service is accessible from a local number, and if you say you get free local calling after six and weekends, then it sounds like you are correct; it would be free access during those times.

(it sounds like your calling charges are from your telephone service rather than the dial-up ISP...)

  5. no, dial up internet is charged, per minute or fraction thereof. only telephone calls will be free at the times you said.
