I am 21 year old female wanting to start my own insurance policy instead of being 2nd driver on my mums car. I have a Toyota Rav4 Sport, which insurance companies are good with younger people please (the car is 8 years old, so not worth a great deal)

  1. A friend of mine works for Geico and they are doing a friends and family promotion right now. I just got a quote from them and it's actually alot cheaper than what I am paying at Allstate. I am pretty sure I am going to switch I just need to make sure all the benefits weight out. But anyways my friend gave me their promotion code which is 135093 and the phone number is 1-800-342-9070. Just use this number and you will get a better quote than if you get it off the street. Thought I would just share since it worked for me.

  2. If Diamond have given you the cheapest quote, use them.

    Have you tried http://www.confused.com ?

  3. I use comparsion sites for chepest:

    http://www.moneysupermarket.com

  4. I haven't heard of Diamond Car Insurance. This really doesn't mean anything though. I think you should go to http://www.ambest.com and check out their ratings and financial stability. If that is good, consider checking out http://www.bbb.org and see if any prior customers have had had times dealing with them. If the stats are good, then you probably  will be happy with Diamond. You can also check out your state's Department of Insurance and see if they have any other additional information on the company. Since you are just starting your very own policy for the first time, consider getting several more quotes to insure you are getting a good price. You may also consider calling your mom's insurance agent and get a quote from them. They know your past and may be able to offer you  low rate. Since your car is very old, find information by talking with some insurance agents or through reputable online  insurance websites (like CA. department of Insurance or your state department of insurance) to make sure you are not buying coverage you don't need or not getting the right coverage based on your driving situation. Best of luck and remember the more quotes a driver gets, the better chance the driver has to save a lot of money.

  5. i WAS with diamond for a good few years, until sadly i clocked up 3 points for speeding. then when i told them they put my insurance up by over £300.

so i went to chauffeur line direct and got it cheaper.

since then i have gone to www.confused.com they check all major insurers like diamond, Shelia's wheels etc and find the cheapest quote for you.

  6. you should try out this site, http://xil.in/autoins/ , they found me the cheapest quotes from all the possible insurance companies in the area.

  7. If they were the cheapest out of an extensive research I'd use them.

If you are worried about something you can check with your state's insurance department to see if they are licensed to do business.
