Diamond Cnoc taken out of the Millennium Stand Bookmakers Golden Sprint Final
Diamond Cnoc, trained by Gerry Ballentine will not be able to compete in the Millennium Stand Bookmakers Golden Sprint Final. The race was scheduled to take place on Friday, 20th April, 2012 at Romford.
The son of Fortune Mike, out of Cnocbride, was due to break from trap 3, but the hound is withdrawn lame and taken out of the running.
The white and blue hound, who was whelped on 4th August, 2008, has had a phenomenal season. Out of eleven starts, he has successfully bagged seven victories.
He started this season with a victory, as he defeated, Pams Tomjo, by 1 ¼ lengths in the Grade OR The New Year Standard at Romford on 6th January, 2012. He raced as a favourite with the odds of 7 to 4, and completed the course
in 24.50 seconds.
He also succeeded in the Grade OR Gala Coral Standard at the same venue on 13th January, 2012, where he defeated, Pams Tomjo, for the second time in a row.
He was given the status of the race favourite by the punters as he raced with odds of 5 to 4. He finished 2 ½ lengths ahead of Pams Tomjo, and completed the 400 metre course in an impressive time of 24.62 seconds, whereas the runner-up finished in
24.82 seconds.
The third consecutive victory, which earned the hound his hat-trick, took place at Romford. On 18th January, 2012, he raced with the odds of 3 to 1, and defeated race favourite, Lil Risky, by 3 ¼ lengths in the Grade OR Watch
Coral TV Only At Coral Standard.
He succeeded in his last two starts, which means that he is on another hat-trick this season.
High hopes were pinned to Diamond Cnoc because of his familiarity with the track, where he was bound to perform well.
He raced at Romford the whole season with the exception of one race, which took place at Nottingham, and due to that factor, Diamond Cnoc will probably miss an opportunity to land his second hat-trick of the season.
The £8,000 mega event will now feature only five runners, as trap 3 has been declared vacant because of Diamond Cnoc’s absence.
