Diamond Cnoc to shine in the Knockrour Brandy Dash
Six talented and versatile greyhounds have turned for the Knockrour Brandy Dash over 263 metres flat at Coventry on Sunday, 5th August. Invading the track for getting entitled to the £200 prize money are Diamond Cnoc, Andlyns Asabat, Caribbean Rocky, Headford Jack, Cloncunny Magic and Garys Fortune.
The most appealing contender tonight is the four-year-old blue and white dog, Diamond Cnoc. The experienced and much accomplished hound has raced at Romford, Nottingham and Coventry ever since the new season took off.
Fortune Mike’s son has raced at Coventry thrice after rolling into the new season and has struck success through two races while the last and the most recent resulted in a third position.
On 17th June, 2012 the four-year-old won a 263 metres race at Coventry. After leashing out from the third trap, the white and blue hound broke into an early pace and monopolised the lead for the entire distance. He reached the other end of the wire in 15.93 seconds and won by the margin of 2 ½ lengths.
He set, Jolly Gino, as the runner-up of the race.
The very next stop for the four-year-old out of, Cnocbride, was over the same distance and at the same venue on 5th July, 2012. Bolting out from the first gate, he did not lead right away, but once when he did then remained prominent until the wire.
He concluded the race in 16.10 seconds and led by just half a length. Finishing the race the closest to the winner was, Gleneagle Mac.
On 29th July, 2012, the G. Ballentine trained ended third in the Bray Vale Dash Division A at Coventry over 263 metres. The £200 prize money was won by, Foxy Red, who made it to the other end of the wire in 15.94 seconds and led by 2 ¼ lengths.
Diamond Cnoc settled third after racing for 16.26 seconds.
He has already proved himself at the race course and over the distance. Bouncing back to form will give him the shape to be the one through the wire before any of the rest.
He is backed by 5 to 2 chances today.
