Diamond digital media player cant play music

Question

I got this Diamond digital media player as a gift it does not come with a manual i figured out how to download the music on the player but when i turn it on a menu comes up to select movies, music ect... i go to music but when i press the play button it says goodbye and turns off. how to i select the music option??/
