  1. have it appraised for insurance reasons and they you will know the value of it for your self good luck

  2. it depends on the diamond (the clarity, cut etc.) dont the ring have a certificate.  mines came with one and its a 1/2k that only cost $1000

  3. There are different prices and ranges by color and cut.  And as a side note, it is very rare that a vendor carry a "flawless" diamond in that size.

Oh and it won't be $20,000 for a half carat.  Bluenile has some 1 carat flawless stones, E color, Ideal cut stones for $20,000 so a half would be much, much less.

  4. Usually a flawless diamond, just the stone and not the setting. Can cost more than most houses. I am not positive, but at least $20,000, for a half carat, but more would sound rite. I googled; different cuts and here is what I got. I am sure that this was not a total help, but that is what I came up with.

  5. most flawless diamond range from 10,000 and up depending on the quailty of the diamond. for example the polar bear canadian flawless diamond  ranges from 10,000 and up. Which is consider one of the best diamond. But it all depends what your looking for and what type of deal your willing to get a the store.

  6. it has to do witha  lot of things... cut, shape, clarity and color.  but at 1/2 ct 8,000 is a bit much even flawless!

  7. I am not sure right off the top of my head but if you look at bluenile they can estimate how expensive a particular diamond will cost you based on carat, color, cut, and clarity..

It will probably be around $2000 or so though...

flawless diamonds are very hard to come by though... you could get an internally flawless (IF) and will look flawless.. that is what I have and jewelers have a hard time finding the flaws in my diamonds.

  8. You can look up exactly the diamond you want (quality and size) at http://www.bluenile.ca/default.asp or http://www.diamondpriceguru.com/

I searched quickly: .5 carat, round, IF, F colour, ideal cut at bluenile.com is $2844.

They have multiple .5 carat stones that are IF, with different colour grades (I searched D to F - colourless) and cuts (ideal to good)

I would go with the highest quality cut you can afford, because that is what makes it sparkle (the quality of cut determines the light that reflects through the diamond).

  9. Is it truly flawless?  If you know the actual clarity and all of the other specific information you will be able to find out what it is worth.  You can get it appraised at most jewelers.  Every diamond is different.  I'd say get it appraised, then you will know how much you should insure it for.

  10. I think half a carat diamond should go for no more then $2,000
