  1. the diamondback respone sport would be better because it hase a tone of sespention and you could do eneything on it.

  2. go for the giant higher quality parts.  over all up to u.

  3. They both are good bikes. What type of riding are you planning??

  4. Assuming you are looking at the 2008 models, I have to say that I'd prefer the Giant for a few reasons. First, an important proviso.

They both look like good choices for cross country riding, or even around town, without spending a ton of money. So remember that despite what I or anyone can say about the bike or its components, what matters most is how each bike feels to you. By that I mean that each bike has its unique geometry (the angle of the tube tube, the length of the tube, etc.) and the bike with the best specs may not fit your body as well as another. I'm talking generally how your body feels on the bike: not too stretched out, not too bunched up, the standover height, proper extension of your legs so you're getting the most power out of them. Test riding each bike should be an important part of your purchase.

The first thing you should look at about a bike's make up after geometry is its frame. While great components are important, they can be replaced and upgraded. Your frame is the skeleton of the bike that should be solid and built well. A top of the line crank or derailleur is meaningless if the frame it's on is poorly built, flexes too much, is too heavy, or is weak. I know that Giant typically makes good frames with quality welds. They also have a great warranty and stand by it. My fiance once got a free replacement no questions asked. In fact, I believe that Giant actually produces many of the frames used by other manufacturers like Trek. It's my understanding that Diamondback used to have a lot of frame quality issues (cracking, which is a very serious problem) until Raleigh bought them out around 2000. Can't say I have any personal experience with them, though.

Okay, so looking at the specs, the Rincon has a superior set of derailleurs. They are both a notch up the Shimano hierarchy from the Diamondback. I've never heard of the company that makes the fork on the Diamondback. Neither are high performance forks, but they should do the trick for general XC riding. Both also have disc brakes. The Hayes brakes on the Diamondback look a bit better, but Tektro makes decent stuff, too. Everything else is essentially equal in my book.

  5. i would say the diamondback response sport is musch  stronger  for more difficult rides but the giant rincon seems nice too your best bet is to try them both out and say for  your self
