  1. I LOVE what you have so far!

If I could make a suggestion, being diamonds are you theme do silver chargers and not gold it will SO not look right to have gold as charger plates with all the diamond accents.  The silver will look much, much better.  Being the silver is shimmery and glittery like the diamonds and in the same tone, it will look, SO much better than the gold.  The gold is going to stand out and clash.  I'm SO NOT trying to offend you, just trying to help.   Everything else sounds beautiful!!!

You can also do silver and white balloons.

You can do clear, stringed Christmas lights around the party area.  They will look like twinkling lights and twinkle gems when the lights are lowered.  I'm not sure if it's possible to do it where your party is but if you can have them around the party, they'll look really nice.

Instead of a red carpet, what about a white carpet with some silvery accents like glitter in it? This way it matches the theme of the party.  If you can find a white carpet that is your's and you don't have to give back, sprinkle some white glitter/silver glitter in it, and it will look like diamond dust, and it can be the diamond dust carpet!

There's a song from the 80's called Diamond Girl, see if the person providing the music can get it for your party.  It's more of a pop/disco song, but you may want it for your party.  Ask someone in your family if they know the song and what they think!

I hope some of these ideas help.  I love what you're doing and what you have planned.  I hope you have a great party and a very Happy Birthday!!

  2. Frost Yourself

  3. I would recommend the color scheme to be the nice Tiffany & Co blue and white because its screams expensive. Plus, the colors are so chrisp and clean that it would look aMaZiNg with everyone in black.

  4. Make rock candy. Buy a bunch of those really big plastic diamonds and scatter them around.

  5. You know, darling, less can be more.

I would plan very exquisite dishes.

    Appetizer: caviar and soda crackers

    canapes of different types

Salad: field greens with raspberry vinegrette

with roasted chopped walnuts and gorgonzola cheese

Dinner: scallops with white wine sauce

    parsley potatoes

    aspargus

dessert: meringue clouds with strawberries and chocolate sauce (could use raspberry and raspberry sauce).

Just the first thing I though of.

If you get a good caviar it is so much better to have less than buying a cheap one.

Also I would find someone you know that could use a few extra bucks (like a local teen)...have the meal all ready to go. have them come in black pants, white shirt with collar and tie and serve the courses.

Also see if you can find a local teen that takes violin or piano (if you dont have one then see if they have an electric keyboard) to serenade your guests. We did this at an engagement party we had for friends - the teen is now auditioning for symphonies each summer traveling the globe on her college summer vacations!

Have the music planned ahead of time so it is seamless and flows continuously.

Make favors for your guests to take home. You could visit a kohls or similiar store and get rhinestone jewelry on sale/clearance. Tie with velvet ribbons or put in velvet bags/boxes. Depends on your budget how much you want to do. You could check the dollar stores for nice keychains with crystals on them.

I would also go to Joann Fabrics and get some shimmer fabric to cover your table...I got some the other day iwht little gem like diamonds on it and it would flicker nicely with the centerpieces you mentioned.

you could get the makings at a craft store to make your own wine glass charms...use crystals on them. You  can buy ready made ones but making them is easy - you just need pliers to get the charms/beads on the rings.

Have fun! Do as much as you can ahead of time. I use allrecipes.com for finding recipes. Find things that you can have all made ahead of time so you dont have to muss yourself up. Maybe get another person in the kitchen to expedite things.

    good luck darling!
