no she was not. she was already rich when she married him. it was an arranged marriage she did not choose to marry him.

I don't believe she was a gold digger when she got with Dodi Fayed because she had enough money to live however she wanted to for the rest of her life. But now when Charles married her she was like a virgin school marm or something and he had to have someone who had never been married as part of their royal rules - and who was a virgin which was hard to find unless he was getting a teenager

Well, she has already fame and fortune in her own right. She has more gold than she ever needed. How would you feel if she went with someone else ? In as much as she need to find someone with the same status (enough to be step father of the future king of England) perhaps Dodi was as close as she could get. There is also the affairs of the heart to consider which is a very private matter. So, she is definately not a golddigger.
