Diana Luna looking forward to the Ladies British Masters
Diana Luna has just finished the Ladies Irish Open and is now looking forward to playing in the next big tournament, the Ladies British Masters.
Luna played an average game and landed in the 18th place. She scored a total of 220 points. Her performance varied from round to round and she scored 75, 76 and 69 respectively.
When Ladies British Masters was announced, it created tremendous excitement among the LET players. A new tournament is always greeted with excitement for two main reasons.
The first and the most important is the absence of any past record. Usually, the analysis of any coming tournament includes a discussion of the players’ performances in the past editions.
This puts plenty of stress on the players who are under pressure to improve their previous record.
The second reason is the ‘newness’ factor. A new tournament attracts many new and old sponsors. It is usually held in a new venue and the entry list includes a few new names.
This keeps the players motivated and they try to shine in the event. Winning an event for the first time is always a great honour and players usually do their best to win the trophy.
Diana Luna has had a mixed record so far. Before her 18th place in the Ladies Irish Open, she played in Evian Masters presented by Societe Generale. This was her worst event so far, with a final ranking of 103.
Her best tournament was the Raiffeisenbank Prague Golf Masters. She stood second after a tough final round where England’s Melissa Reid proved to be the better player.
According to many analysts, Luna has a fair chance of a good final position in the Ladies British Masters. She has gained confidence from her performance in the Ladies Irish Open. This will prove be a great performance enhancer in the upcoming events.
One point that might stand in her way is her unfamiliarity with the Buckinghamshire Golf Club. She will play a practice session but that usually is not enough for many players. Still, with her experience, Luna will be able to make a name for herself in
the event.
