Question:

Diaper party....good idea?

I'm due in October and my husband would like to have a diaper party around the end of August. Our plan is to have a bonfire and a keg and anyone who wants to come just needs to bring a pack of diapers and they can drink off the keg all night. We're going to provide snacks since it'll start earlier in the night, and we live more than 25 minutes from most of our friends so we are going to tell them to bring tents and they can all camp out for the night. (We have a big yard) Does this sounds like a good idea?? We'd also like to have some sort of "games" or something as ice breakers since it will be a mixture of friends and family and not everyone will know each other. Any suggestions?

  1. sounds good

  2. lol.....thats a good idea.....u will need lots and lots of diapers.....i never thought of that....as for games... i have no idea.... we normally bbq and go with the flow...everybody is going to go into their own groups anyway... im not one to sleep outside though...but its an awsome idea.... i will think of some  ideas and get back to u

    cards

idk how old u guys are but a lot of people play beer pong

  3. Sounds like a fun idea, as long as you don't invite the same gals to a baby shower later on.  Theres nothing worse than going to someones multiple showers for any occasion.  Having snacks for drinking is a great idea.  Make sure you have hearty foods other than chips and dips.

When ever I host get togethers where drinks are served, I always make heavy foods as well as chips, veggies and nuts. We are talking burgers (if outdoors like you are planning), brats, slow cooker items.

Don't skimp out when expecting gifts.  It's always a give and take thing.

Have fun and good luck with your baby!

  4. that sounds like a lot of fun. you must to marshmallows  and hot dogs  and there are popcorn poppers for fireplaces  also some sort of tart marker (a long handled thing  two pieces of bread and jelly in the middle toasted  Maybe your friends have more camping gear.

  5. music and food and baby games

  6. Uhhhh........That sounds really hillbilly. Are you related to me or did you used to be a friend of mine?

  7. Well, that sounds like a brilliant idea. But what are the diapers for? When your baby arrives?

The sleeping out sounds good. You could play something like Limbo, or something more childish like everyone has to stand in a line and pass the ball between their legs, or bury a sweet in a tower of flour and you have to get it out with your teeth, or applebobbing... you get the idea :) Good luck!

  8. Play the tray game, bring out 25-40 baby items on trays pass them around, put them into another room,  give everyone 10 minutes to write down as much as they can remember, (this can be pretty funny). have a three legged race ( of course no pregnant players), play a game of boccie, croquet, bat mitten, Give everyone 5 minutes to write down names they think you should name your baby ( this can also be hilarious). If you have a friends with kids, get them to bring baby dolls, and divide everyone into 2 -4 groups, and have them change, and dress the dolls. Most of these games will get everyone involved, and can get people mingling.

  9. Hot weather and a keg of beer - nothing could go wrong there. Oh, and instead of driving home drunk (I'm not DRUNK!) in my air-conditioned car, I'm going to sleep in your yard ... and pee in your flowers. I would have somebody else host this thing for you. Put your feet up, relax. Sounds like a weak excuse for a kegger and YOU probably won't enjoy it in that heat.

  10. good enough

  11. That sounds awesome!

Does it make you sad to be around all that drinking and not be able to drink yourself? hehe, it did me sometimes and I dont even drink all that much.

You can always play "I Never" to break the ice.... hopefully you know how to play that, if not email me, I will help ya out. :)

For the drinkers... you can go to www.zooass.com

they have mixed drink recipes (if people bring alcohol) but it also has drinking games that they can play while out there.

I would also suggest sitting around the campfire and instead of telling ghost stories telling horrible stories of everyones childhood. (that can be Very scary)

    Man, I wanna go!

Congrats on the soon to be bundle of joy!
