I am using Desitin and it is not working he has had his rash since sunday and his little bottom is just sooo raw. I feel for the little guy any one have any suggestions on what I can do? I have read simmular questions about it and alot of them said to not use wipes but to let them soak in water well since my son has a cast on his leg and he can't get it wet. We have been sponge bath city for the last 2 weeks and we have 2 weeks left till the cast gets to come off yeah!! Anyways back to my problem any help would be greatly appreciated THANKS!

  1. my daughter had a horrible diaper rash, desitin made it worse, i found this little more expensive  cream at walmart called triple paste, the rash was practically gone the next day, great stuff you should try it.

  2. Poor guy, I know diaper rashes can be really painful. I would say to leave his diaper off for a while, -- like for a short time during the day if you can just to let some air get to that area. Applying lots of Desitin is certainly the first thing I would recommend, as well as changing him as often as you can. Although I understand that he particularly hates being changed right now, it certainly will help to keep him as dry and as clean as possible. So sorry for his pain.

  3. I would use ad gold standard of protection  with Zinc Oxide Cream and i found it works really well to ask a pharmacist at the store you get the cream

  4. TRIPLE PASTE!!! Works like a charm. You'll be amazed, it's the best diaper rash cream I've ever seen.

  5. I would try an ointment called triple paste. Slather some on every time he pees or poops. Make sure you keep him dry. Try putting a plastic bag over his leg and letting him soak his butt in the sink or something. Corn starch might help better instead of baby powder as well if you are using that with the ointment

  6. We've always had great luck with A & D ointment on my son.  It clears his rashes up usually overnight.  It's less messy too than Desitin especially if you can't really bath.  It doesn't smell fantastic, but I've tried several different things and this always worked this best.  It's more of an ointment than a paste which helps it go on better and clean off better.  Give it a try.

  7. moisture is part of the problem, you need to let his bottom air out. Everytime you change the diaper, leave it off for awhile (if you dare) and give his bottom time to "breathe" Also, ask about neosprion(just on the severe parts. And then, my son has never once had diaper rash, and we use that butt paste stuff. It works great. Switch to the pampers sensitive wipes, or if you can all natural, chlorine free wipes,(they ahve those at health food stores and some grocery stores) and that will help ALOT! Good luck!
