  1. Is it a diaper rash or a yeast infection?  Treatment is different for both of them.  I used:

    Diaper rash - Destin

Yeast Infection - 3.5% Clotrimozole cream (same yeast infection cream that comes with Canestin).  Just a dime sized amount over the entire area.

  2. Is this rash red and more raised up? My children's pediatrician explained to me that a reg diaper rash isnt raised up its just red but when it gets raised up and a little bubbly it is a yeast infection. My son who is one is prone to them and he gets them almost every time he has a bowel movement. Nistatin works great with a desitin type ointment smeared over it to keep the medicine on his skin and everything else away. It gives it a chance to work. There is a stronger than nistatin cream out there my son had to have a couple of times when it got too out of control, it begins with a t. I'm sorry, that is all i remember. Hope this helps.

  3. If your going to same doctor and it's not working you need to get another doctor. He's obviously mis-diagnosing her. I would take her to a dermatologist. He/She should be able to look at her and know immediately what the problem is. My daughter was born with a red rash on her face that lasted for 3 months. I kept taking her to the same doctor and nothing he gave her worked (they even said she had chicken pox - please!). Finally I got a clue and changed doctor's. I took her in to her new doctor at 2:00 in the afternoon, picked up her prescription immediately and by 7 p.m. that evening, her skin was peaches and cream clear! He remained her doctor throughout her childhood. I still think of this wonderful doctor and how skilled he was and how he took my little girl out of pain. She had excema by the way. I'm so sorry you have to go through this. I know how scary it can be when your child is in discomfort and you don't know what it is. I would ask the women who work in your OB's office who their pediatrician's are. These people know where to find the good ones (unless it's the same one your using now :). Good luck and let me know how it turns out.

  4. She could be having allergic reaction to the brand of diapers. I would change the brand of diapers for while and change her more often and see if it would stay away for good.

  5. my daughter got a yeast infection every time she had an antibiotic  her doctor gave her an oral med cant remember the name and also gave me some cream called vusion it worked wonders she was better in 24 hours.

  6. You've gotten really good advice so far...i just want to throw in my two cents.  If she's getting yeast infections regularly, she doesn't have enough "good bacteria" in her digestive system.  Feed her yogurt once a day, if you aren't already (I strongly suggest YoBaby--it has the full fat and it's organic).  She'll think it's a treat, and the yogurt's bacterium will kill that pesky yeast!

  7. my daughter used to get it all the time. and we found what works the best is the johnsons 3 in 1 cream..and also..a & d ointment works wonders...but i would recommend the johnsons 3 in 1 cream. hope it works :)

  8. I see commercials for this product all the time.  Ask your pediatrician about it.

  9. I used to get them all the time so my mom would cover the bottom of my playpen with towels and let me spend time in there out of my diaper. It really helped she says.
