Diapers for newborns?

Question

what are brands that are great but doesnt cost much for newborns?its for my first and i still have no idea how the sizes go.

I bought them in bulk at BJ's Wholesale. A box contained 187 diapers for $19.99. They worked fine.

When my son was a newborn I liked pampers swaddlers but once he got out of the newborn stage I started buying Target Brand from Target or Parents Choice from Walmart. They are MUCH cheaper and work just as good in my opinion. My son is 16 months and still wears store brand does just fine in them. :)

Huggies swaddlers for newborns are pretty reasonable and are great. good luck!

Try Family Dollar, Target, Walmart, Sam's Club, Roses - all these stores have cheap diapers - or buy in bulk that will say money. The diapers are sized N,1,2,3,4,5, - the N - is for newborn and will last about 2 weeks then the rest of the diapers are based on weight (which is states on the package).

Try a generic brand. I found on similar to huggies when my son was a baby. The plastic ones weren't my favs. I like huggies b/c they were more clothlike and didn't leak. I found a generic brand made of the same material and were way cheaper, they were called Luvs, I think...

For girls, Parents Choice at Walmart worked great. For my son, he leaked right out of them. We use White Cloud for him with no problems.

they have a huggies diaper specifically for newborns that still have their umbillical stump, it has a little u shape so the diaper wont hit.

pampers swaddlers are AWESOME they have a texture weave that pulls moisture away, they used the preemie ones in the NICU on my daughter and we have bought them ever since. She is almost 4 months and going through the summer she has NEVER had diaper rash, and has only pooped out of her diaper 1 time, and she has some scary poops TMI. I buy them at target and think they are reasonable 152 size 1/newborn for 25.00 you can find target coupons alot too.

Pampers Swaddlers Work GREAT for my newborn. Pampers also makes a sensitive kind and it has a wetness detector line on the front..I HIGHLY recommend these diapers!

I get mine from wal-mart it's the yellow package and I got 40-56 of them for 5.74 it's the same at target

When my son was in the smaller sized i LOVED Huggies Supreme.  We tried Pampers Swaddlers and he leaked right out of them.  If you are looking for a cheaper diaper that is pretty decent than i recommend Luvs.  We've tried Parents Choice, White Cloud,  Target, and K-mart brands and wasn't happy with any of them.  The Target diapers seemed to ball up really bad when he would wet.  As far as sizes go  it's as follows P for preemie, N for newborn and then 1,2,3,4,5,and 6.  They're are weights printed on the packages to let you know which ones would be more suitable for you baby.  When looking for the right kind of diapers though sometimes it's just a trial and error thing.  What works for one child might not work for yours.  What one mother thought was a nightmare might be perfect for yours.
