Question:

Diarrhea multiple times a day?

I have been experiencing diarrhea multiple times a day for the past month or so. It usually happens 15-60 minutes after eating. But it does not happen every time I eat, but nearly every time. I'm just wondering what could be wrong. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

  1. i would see a doctor.

  2. It could be a lot of things, so see your doctor.  And ask about getting a food allergy test, because that can cause so many problems--including frequent diarrhea.

  3. See a doctor.

In the meantime- you'll be very dehydrated-

    Make this mixture to rehydrate.

1 litre water, 1 teaspoon salt, 8 teaspoons sugar.

The sugar and salt ensure it'll be isotonic & will replace the sugar & salt you've lost.

  4. You could have IBS. Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

  5. It could be irritable bowel syndrome.  I find that when I eat out, certain foods tend to end in this result!  Like the other poster, I would advise consulting a doctor.  There are medications that you can take.  You might try an elimination diet as well.  Is it dairy products, and you have lactose intolerance?  Is it some kind of fat that disagrees with you?  Is it garlic or onion?  There are lots of different causes.

  6. i think you ate too much fiber. fiber makes your p**p soft. it made your p**p too soft

  7. food poisoning? what are you eating?

  8. google C-diff

  9. My sister has had that at times.  The first time she went and had proctological exam by her doctor.  He found there was no problem and so she watched her diet and figured out an alternative cause, that appears to  be the actual cause.  She figured out that she has a dumping syndrome.  When she eats too much fat or sugar, she dumps.  It's her body's response... similar to what happens when you take the diet drug Ally.

You should get a procto exam first.

    If this is negative, congratulations.

If it's negative, record what you eat at every meal and snack and see if you have this problem after eating foods that are high in fat content or high in sugar.

  10. that's a lot of dairy product...you sure you're not lactose intolerant?

  11. Seeing a doctor is always wise for unknown causes.

I had diarrhea for the last two weeks of my trip to India.  I probably picked it up on the train from New Delhi to Bangalore (approximately 36 hour train ride) since the culinary hygiene was questionable.  I don't know if they had refrigerators in their kitchen and I did eat the train food. I tried to stick to bottled water and brought my own filter when I went to Rishikesh and then further up into the Himalyas in Badrinath.  The problem with bottled water was people would reuse plastic and refill it with who knows what source of water and call it "bottled" water.  I noticed one place the seal was a home-made job.

When I returned I started to take probiotics and the symtoms went away.  I swear by the Garden of Life products if you're looking for a good manufacture of probiotics which are good bacteria.  Everyone's gut has good and bad bacteria.  The trick is to keep the balance on the good side, that is, more good than bad.

If you keep the balance of good "friendly" bacteria to bad bacteria on the positive than the bad bacteria won't have a chance to take hold cause havoc in your system.

Yogurt has some probiotics in it but commercial brands are pretty minimal in the quantity and number of different types of bacteria.

  12. You may be eating food with to high of a fat content.  Sometimes that happens to me and I notice that when I eat healthier my body tends to appreciate it more.  Best of luck.

  13. that sounds awful. diet pills tend to do that, including ali and de toxing pills. it might be because you have an allergy to something you've been eating lately or you could just be sick with some stomach bug. try remembering what you eat and if it happens when you eat that particular thing, you are probably allergic to it. this is what happened to me when i was about nine and it was because of a  NEW allergy that had just started for milk. ask your doctor, it could be serious, but not likely. hope this helps!
