Question:

Diastasis Recti from hernia surgery?

Forgive me if this sounds like a dumb question, but ever since I had an incisional hernia repaired nine months ago (tension free mesh), I noticed a raised area (not a bulge) extending from my navel up to just below my b*****s. I know the repair involved reconstruction of the wall and fascia, and the lower part around the naval is just fat but the upper portion spreads out and connects to the fascia below the b*****s. From a distance in the mirror it looks like a raised triangular area going from the naval to the sternum. Is this normal? I don't remember what this area was like before the surgery. Maybe part of the mesh or some displaced fascia caused by the surgery?
