Dice to take command of the Digibet Handicap Hurdle at Newcastle on 6th March
The Class 4 Digibet Handicap Hurdle is to be held at Newcastle over two miles on Tuesday, 6th March. The race that has aligned a lineup of twelve runners has a purse of £2, 014 for the winner of the race.
Dice, Kalanisi’s six-year-old bay gelding out of mare Rain Dancer, is the only one on the lineup who has struck a victory during the new season. Dice won the La Taxis Handicap Hurdle on 26th January at Newcastle over two miles and escaped to victory
by a mere neck’s difference from the runner up of the race King’s Chorister who was reeling in for the wire full force.
The 2/1 favourite of the race, Dramatic Jewel, was the third horse on the field to race through the wire on the track of six competing.
How impressively will he get to conclude the second start of the season, is yet to be seen.
Another credible entry on the lineup is Hunters Belt, Intikhab’s eight-year-old bay gelding out of mare Three Stars. He has been exposed to three starts till yet, one has witnessed him finishing fourth on a lineup of eight while the other two had him placed
second.
On 8th January he was second in the Hold Your Birthday Party At Southwell Handicap at Southwell over a mile and three furlongs. Hunters Belt finished second after the winner, Magic Millie, who raced through the wire by a mere half length’s margin.
Hunters Belt’s second position forced the 7/4 favourite of the race, Newport Arch into the third slot.
After bumping into the fourth position in the second start of the season, Hunters Belt was second in the Play Rainbow Riches At Bluesq.Com Handicap on 7th February at Southwell over a mile and four furlongs.
The race was won by Tricksofthetrade while Unex Picasso finished third after the winner.
Today Hunters Belt will venture out a fourth time during the new season and after missing three starts, it is time that he gets to post a victory. No doubt the lineup is diverse and talented but his two second positions do reveal some level of consistency
in performance which if he pulls through today, he will get an assured trip to the winners’ enclosure.
