The Eindhoven giants secured a convincing 4-0 win over http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Russia-c2991 boss has stressed that his side remained the better team throughout the 90 minutes.
PSV Eindhoven head coach, d**k Advocaat, was not completely satisfied with his side’s 4-0 win over Heracles Almelo at Philips Stadion on Sunday, November 4.
The veteran Dutch tactician admitted that his side dominated proceedings throughout the 90 minutes, but stressed that they should have netted more goals.
“We knew Heracles would be able to play an open and entertaining game of football, scoring plenty of goals. However, we successfully chased down our opponents, so that they could not show their skills. We were by far the better team over 90 minutes, but
we should have scored more goals”, Advocaat was quoted as saying to journalists in the post-match press conference.
The former Borussia Monchengladbach boss went on to heap praise on his troops’ efforts, and admitted that every player worked extremely hard to ensure they emerge victorious at the end.
“We worked really hard and showed tactical discipline”, Advocaat concluded.
PSV started the game at home brightly, and mounted immense pressure on the visiting side’s defence. In the 19th minute, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dries-Mertens-c11679 managed to break the deadlock with a beautiful left-footed curling effort that found the top right corner of
the net.
After missing out couple of decent opportunities to extend their lead further, the Eindhoven giants eventually doubled their advantage through http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luciano-c22574 Narsingh in the 36th minute.
Narsingh could have netted his second goal of the evening before the half-time break, but his effort went well over the crossbar, much to the dismay of the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281 coach.
In spite of enjoying lion’s share of ball possession, the Boeren failed to hit the back of the net further until the 74th minute, when http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kevin-Strootman-c20775 added his name to the score-sheet to make the score-line 3-0. Seven minutes later, Tim Matavz’s
strike completed a convincing win in favour of the home side.
PSV, who are sitting second on the league table, will play against Heerenveen in their next Eredivisie encounter on November 11.
