PSV Eindhoven head coach, d**k Advocaat, hailed his side’s impressive 3-0 win over Feyenoord at Philips Stadion on Sunday, September 23. The 64-year-old tactician admitted that his troops dominated proceedings throughout the 90 minutes, and deserved to bag
all three points at the end.
“We thoroughly deserved victory today. We chased the ball all over the field and fought for every inch”, Advocaat was quoted as saying to the club’s official website.
The veteran Dutch trainer went on to admit that his side failed to perform brightly in the opening 45 minutes of the game, though, he acknowledged that his troops did manage to create a couple of decent opportunities.
“We were sloppy at times and only started to take control after twenty minutes. Then we created plenty of the chances, particularly after the break when we put in a fine performance”, Advocaat added.
The former Borussia Monchengladbach boss did not use any of the three substitutions, and the starting XI played the entire 90 minutes of the game.
Advocaat explained that the impressive show put in by his starting line-up deserved to play the entire game.
“I could have brought on a few players, but when we were leading by two goals, I thought the starting line-up deserved to play the full ninety minutes”, the Dutch mentor concluded.
PSV dominated proceedings right from the kick-off, but failed to create any clear cut goal-scoring opportunity in the opening half, apart from Ola Toivonen’s effort from 30 yards that hit the woodwork.
The Eindhoven giants broke the deadlock in the 63rd minute through Toivonen, while http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jeremain-Lens-c18323 made it 3-0 in the 76th minute to seal a comfortable victory for the
