Advocaat is still unsure over the starting line-up; assures the fans of getting a positive result in the opening game against Czech Republic
Russia have been drawn against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Czech-Republic-c2882, Poland and Greece in Euro 2012 group stages. They will kick off the European tournament on Friday when they play the opening game against the Narodak at Stadion Miejski.
Czech republic came from behind to claim a 3-3 draw against Russia at Anfield, the last time these two side met, in Euro 1996. The Narodak managed to progress from the group stages while Russia and Italy failed to advance at that
time.
d**k Advocaat, head coach, has conceded that his side needs to be very careful against the Euro 2004 semi-finalists. He has assured the fans that Russia are ready to play against any opponent.
The 64-year-old has some major injury concerns ahead of the opening game, with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Igor-Akinfeev-c16676 still recovering from injuries. The trio sustained injuries while playing the third friendly game
against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 at Zurich.
Media reports in Russia suggest that Advocaat will start the opening game with Zenit St. Petersburg’s goalkeeper, Vyacheslav Malafeev, and CSKA Moscow’s attacking midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-Dzagoev-c4249.
It is expected that the head coach will play Dzagoev behind lone striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Aleksandr-Kerzhakov-c4569.
However, Advocaat has refused to reveal the starting line-up ahead of the mouthwatering encounter, insisting that he will make his decision at the eleventh hour.
“We have not conducted special training session but we are ready. I myself do not know who will start in the upcoming match. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Anton-Shunin-c6283, are all waiting in the line.”
“Before the start of the tournament, it's silly to think about anything else but winning. We will try to get a positive result rather than to focus on the style of play. I think we have showed attractive football on the past and
we will try to continue to do so.” The UEFA Cup winner was quoted as saying.
Advocaat went on to praise Howard Webb, conceding that the 40-year-old is amongst the best referees in the world.
