The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Russia-c2991 boss has expressed his delight over the Eindhoven giants’ impressive comeback to secure all three points, while also hailing Jurgen Streppel’s men performance.
PSV Eindhoven head coach, d**k Advocaat, was not entirely pleased with his side’s first-half performance against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Willem-II-c40945 Tilburg. However, the Dutch mentor was satisfied to see his troops’ scintillating show after the break to claim a 3-2 win over the
Tricolores at Philips Stadion on Saturday, October 20.
The Tilburg-based club commenced proceedings aggressively, and grabbed the lead in the 16th minute through Jens Podevijn. Seven minutes later, A Niek Vossebelt strike doubled his side’s advantage, a lead that the visitors took into the half-time
break.
The Boeren boss denied that he gave a fuming speech to his players during the half-time interval, and revealed that he only asked his troops to open the scoring.
“I told the lads the fans would get behind the team if we managed to reduce the deficit. And that’s what happened”, Advocaat was quoted as saying to the club’s official website.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kevin-Strootman-c20775 made no mistake in hitting the target from close range.
And the veteran Dutch tactician revealed that he knew his side will manage to bag all three points at the end of the game after the 22-year-old’s strike.
“After the opening goal, I just knew we would score the second and third goal. I’m satisfied with my team’s fighting spirit and late comeback. Fortunately, all is well that ends well”, Advocaat added.
Strootman netted his second of the evening in the 79th minute to restore parity, while Tim Matavz’s neat strike sealed the 3-2 win only three minutes later.
Although, the PSV boss was satisfied with his side’s impressive show in the second-half, he also hailed the Tilburg-based outfit’s performance.
“Willem II were well-organised, fought hard and had the energy to go forward. They scored two fine goals, also because we were guilty of sloppy defending”, Advocaat concluded.
The Boeren will lock horns against PEC Zwolle in their next Eredivisie encounter on October 28.
