Dicky Palyama narrowly beats Hannes Kaesbauer in Men’s Singles second round at Dutch Open 2012
Dicky Palyama, one of the most experienced players from Netherlands, had to work really hard in Men’s Singles second round when he outplayed Germany’s Hannes Kaesbauer in a narrow fashion at Yonex Dutch Open 2012 on Wednesday, October 10, in Netherlands.
The higher ranked Palyama, who was placed at number 8 in Men’s Singles main draw of the championship, was in all sorts of trouble while playing against his talented German rival but found a way out in the final set and won the battle.
Palyama played in a dominating fashion in the first game but failed to win the following set. However, he was at the top of his form in the final battle and eventually won the match in three games with a reasonable margin.
In the meanwhile, the un-seeded Kaesbauer also gave a phenomenal fight on court by playing attacking badminton and snatched one set from his rival.
Nevertheless, German player could not create any problem for Palyama in the deciding game and lost the match with a respectable total on the board.
The German shuttler was in complete control of rallies in the first half of the contest in the opening game as he played with confidence and stayed ahead until the break.
After the one-minute interval, Palyama started to gear up his speed and controlled the pace of rallies while remaining focused on court and levelled the score by reaching at 13-13.
Palyama continued showing up his excellent skills in the concluding half of first game and took it with a comfortable difference of 21-15.
The second game was identical as the German player dominated the pace of rallies in the first game and took an 11-8 lead until the break.
After the interval, Palyama tried to control the affairs but failed to stop the aggression of his rival and eventually lost the set with a 19-21 score on the board.
In the decider, it was Palyama who displayed a spirited show of attacking and positive badminton and he remained successful in grabbing the final set with a huge 21-8 score on the board.
The in-form Palyama ended up this second round clash in three games in 45 minutes with a 21-15, 19-21 and 21-8 score on the board.
