  1. Almost ANY diesel engine can run on WVO (Waste Vegetable Oil).  Try googling this.

There are some issues and drawbacks, like the fact that WVO needs to be heated, like the amount of filtering and dewatering required, not to mention the fact that now that WVO and home biodiesel is popular, it's hard to get your hands on a reliable supply of WVO.  Also, you need a system to switch back to diesel before you shut down the engine, or the WVO can gel up inside the injection system when it gets cold.

There are a lot of good forums on the web telling you all about how to do this.  I ran probably 500+ gallons of WVO in my Powerstroke last summer when it was really hot outside, and it performed just fine.  Exhaust smelled like french fries.

  2. The first diesel engine invented by Rudolph Diesel ran on Straight Peanut Oil... Any diesel engine will run on vegatable oil, you do not need to convert it to biodiesel.  You do not need to convert the enginee in anyway, all you neeed to do is add another fuel system(for the VO).  Vegetable oil is not 100% effecient until the VO reaches an ambient tempreture of 150 deg F, after this is just as effecient or more than petrolium diesel.  Some fuel injection systems on differnt make vehicles adapt better to the VO than others, VW and Mercedes are popular in this setup.  There are maybe websites/compnay where you can find information, I could type all day here and never fully explain it to you, but ti works well and its not totally crazy.  With the filtering process and cost in getting WVO(waste vegetable oil from deep fryers in returants and such(must be filtered)) you cost for fuel is about 46 cents per gallon.  If your interested check out the various websites. They all sell kits.

  3. No that is a misinformation.

Veggie oil has to be converted into bio-diesel.  Engines need very consistent fuel. There no system of grading just plain veggie oil.

After that it is just diesel and can be used in ANY diesel (no car conversion necessary).

The problem is that you really can buy bio-diesel in most of the country. So you have to make it in your garage.

    good luck...

  4. yes if you buy a fuel cell for a 100 buck u can run on veggie oil at McD's or any other place like that
