Question:

Did Adam and Eve require fertility treatments?

According to one website, http://www.wordsight.org/btl/000_btl-fp.htm , they were about 100 years old when Seth was born and yet only 3 children are named to them.

So why the low rate of fertility or why aren't their other children named?

Seth himself in some 900 years could only have two children and his son Enos - the same thing.

Why don't we have such great contraception now?

Also, if so many biblical people had so few children why then for 100's of years did the Catholic Church think a married woman should essentially have a baby a year?

  1. the website is talking absolut rubbish, they have no idea how old they were.

In OT times people lived close to 1000 years, 100 would be like a young child to them at that time

  2. Where do you get your information from?  Eve had more than 3 children  and the Catholic church Never said Have a baby a year. Wow were you Reading Teen Beat because it was not the bible.

  3. Of course none of this makes sense, which points to none of it was real at all.

  4. No

    Becuase they didn't exist

  5. maybe they were so tired from running away from wild animals and picking potatoes and lugging water in buckets up hill they passed out at night and found no time for s*x.

  6. Wow, if Adam and Eve had actually existed, it really would've sucked if Adam had been sterile.

  7. Adam and his wife had many children not named in scripture.

  8. Did you ever stop to think that maybe it's not true? That it's a story written thousands of years ago by people who never expected anyone one day to accept what they were writing as the truth to be completely accepted without question?

  9. If you read your Bible, which you obviously have not, you'd find in Genesis chapter 5, that Adam and Eve had lots of sons and daughters who are not named in the Bible.

Jewish tradition says they had 56 children.

I find that number very low.  560 is more likely.

  10. Not all of their children are mentioned in the bible.

How many children did Adam and Eve have? The Bible does not give us a specific number. Adam and Eve had Cain (Genesis 4:1), Abel (Genesis 4:2), Seth (Genesis 4:25), and many other sons and daughters (Genesis 5:4). With likely hundreds of years of child-bearing capability, Adam and Eve likely had 50+ children in their lifetime.

  11. During biblical time they did not have fertility treatments they had to rely soly on God to do the work on the inside and open their wombs that have closed.

  12. Well...thats according to a website. One.  Everyone knows people in biblical times lived for 800 years or more.  Just look at Noah and Job.

  13. Yeah, Adam was using a Trojan condom made of grass and twigs.

  14. obviously not.  you think they had that back then?

they named their other children they just don't tell us the names because they're not significant to God's word.

don't know about the catholic thing.

  15. well that website is deffently wrong i heard that adam and eve had like 20 kids or something like that but catholic's are stupid (no offense if thats your church)they have to much rules

  16. best question ever asked!!!!!

  17. You are so stupid and ignorant!! Think about it and do not believe everything you on the internet!!!

  18. yeah like they deffinately had more kids!

  19. they probaby had more then but the important ones were probably listed...

    read this... from ur website...

Cain's first child, Enoch, was born. Enoch fathered sons and daughters. No dates or years were given in the line of Cain. Many discoveries and inventions were ascribed to the mental activity of Cain's posterity.

Seth was born to Adam and Eve. Seth lived 912 years and fathered sons and daughters. Seth carried on Adam's godly family line.

Cain's first grandchild, Irad, son of Enoch was born.

seth lived 912 years and FATHERED SONS AND DAUGHTERS....

  20. LMAO!

  21. Only the oldest were named in the record, or a child that did something - good or bad.

According to Jewish tradition Adam and Eve had around 60 children in total.

  22. To have lived 900 years Adam & Eve had to be near physical perfection.

Fertility was no problem, the Bible says they had many children and grandchildren, most were not recorded by name. The Bible's chief concern was recording important events that affected humanity, and tracking the patriarchal lineage from Adam to Jesus Christ.

  23. dont know????? the bible remains a mystery. The best mystery of all times

  24. adam and eve were not real people. sorry. just a biblical story that has caused the suppression of women for thousands of years

  25. I have no idea what your trying to ask. What do you mean by fertility treatments? Cain and his nefilim wife 'Luluwa' had children way before Seth was even born.
