  1. yes

  2. Ummm, I think he threw the mittens he wore in a few tests at someone once and they fell over in laughter- does that count as an ankle-tap?

  3. i think the team was so good back then he didn't have too!!!

  4. He was penalised once for a head high tackle in a Test match - It was more like a hand bag at 40 paces and there was a fair amount of disbelieving looks from both teams

  5. AH didnt have to make many tackles. The AB's were always on attack in those days and he done what was expected of him really well. The only reason he was dropped is because "they" didnt want it to be him to break the record held for most points which he was only a couple short of.

  6. I just leanrned about this in school.

  7. No , but i believe there was one time in a game ,where an opposition winger ,accidently tripped over Hewie`s foot, as Hewie  was desperately trying to get out of his way......and a certain try was saved.

I heard about that in the Petone Workingman`s Club, from a Wellington supporter.....I think his name was Scruff.

  8. Alan Hewson, along with Bernie Frazer and Stu Wilson formed one of the fastest and best defensive back three NZ has seen. Hewson made his share of tackles.
